My resume tells you a little bit about some of my work experience both as an employee, owner/partner, and consultant. What it doesn't really tell you is the kind of person I am.
I love to get involved in projects that I feel passionate about. This passion can come from a number of different areas. A technologic challenge. Something that will benefit a broad spectrum of people. Something that will make a difference.
Although as a consultant I often work alone, I am a people person. I have always enjoyed leading a team of people toward a common goal. I can listen to the different sides of an argument yet I'm not afraid to make the final decision and live with the consequences.
One of the most exciting times in my life was when I was leading a software company (EVTEK). Working together with the two other partners we took a small unknown software company to a position of market leadership. I hope to someday have a siimilar opportunity.
I have an unquenchable thirst for technology. What really drives me though is technology that works. Very often this means stepping back a step or two from the "leading edge" and finding the correct blend of technologies that achive the desired end. I think too often technologists like myself are blinded by their love of the latest-greatest and you end up paying a large price in terms of delivery time and cost. There is a big price to be paid for living on that leading edge.
